Storm Doris Brings Down Ancient Tree in Elgood’s Brewery Gardens

Storm Doris claimed a Variegated Sycamore (Acer pseudoplatanus variegatum) in Elgood’s Garden. The tree, which is listed as the largest and tallest in Cambridgeshire and one of the largest in the country, has a girth of 390 cm (13 ft.) and a height of 24 m (70 ft.).

The tree crashed down across the celebrated maze at Elgood’s Brewery Garden this morning (Thursday 23rd February).
