On Friday 27th March, visitors to Elgood’s Brewery were met in the reception by Sadie Johns. Sadie wore a variety of different hats during the day for Wear A Hat Day to highlight Brain Tumour awareness. A cause close to her heart as her future sister-in-law, also a past employee of Elgood’s Brewery; Lucinda Knight, was diagnosed in 2012 at the age of 22, with a rare Brain Tumour. At that time the family were shocked to learn that “Brain Tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer, yet just 1% of the national spend on cancer research is allocated to this devastating disease”.
Employees and visitors of Elgood’s Brewery, Wisbech happily sponsored Sadie to support this worthwhile cause. By wearing 20 different hats throughout the day she managed to raise a total of £195.00.
